In our dental practice, we produce digital X-ray images only. X-rays are used predominantly in dentistry for diagnosis and control of the disease progression.
Moreover, the X-rays are indispensable when it comes to, for example, hidden carious parts, inflamed processes on the root of the tooth or bone loss. Before treating periodontal disease, inserting crowns, dentures and implants and extracting teeth, making an X-ray can be a valuable tool to help prevent complications.

Digital radiography
What is digital radiography?
Digital radiography is an image-providing process in which not a conventional X-ray film is exposed, but instead a special foil. Instead of the chemicals and X-ray films used up to now, digital radiography uses modern sensor technology to acquire the data and process it digitally on the PC.
Advantages of digital radiography
- Digital X-raying usually requires only a fraction of what conventional radiation needs. Depending on the type of device and recording technology, radiation exposure is at least 30–50% lower. The digital images have a better resolution than conventional X-ray images and are therefore much richer in detail and more reliable.
- Digital radiography enables a clear and sound diagnosis and also makes the findings more visible and comprehensible to the patient.
- The technology is environmentally friendly, chemicals are no longer necessary.
- Results can be stored, drawn on for comparison and forwarded on data carriers.
